Four die after consuming poisonous liquor in Toba Tek Singh ; dealer arrested

 



TOBA TEK SINGH: An alleged drug dealer was arrested on Sunday after four persons died by allegedly consuming poisonous liquor in Mouza Bhussi Kay Kathia in Pirmahal tehsil of Toba Tek Singh district.

Police spokesperson Attaullah told reporters that DPO Akhlakullah Tarar immediately reached the locality and inquired about the incident from locals and the Bhussi Police officials. He was informed that they had allegedly purchased liquor from one Ghulam Haider Kathia. The suspect had been arrested by the police on the directions of the DPO. The victims had been identified as Babar Fazil, Shakeel Shah alias Shele Shah, Mazhar Hussain and Salman alias Salu.

The spokesperson added that the condition of another man named Sultan Rahi, who also consumed the liquor, was critical and he was being treated at the Pirmahal THQ Hospital.

Meanwhile, Faisalabad RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhera has also taken notice of the incident and directed the Toba DPO to submit a report.

In a press release, the RPO said that elements involved in the heinous business of selling poisonous liquor did not deserve any concession. He announced that action was being taken against those who manufacture and sell poisonous liquor under a zero tolerance policy. He added that all those responsible for the incident would be brought to justice and indiscriminate action would be ensured against elements who played with the lives of citizens.
