Drake's mansion targeted in break- in and shooting, just a day apart

 



Canadian pop superstar Drake’s mansion in Toronto was targeted by an attempted break-in only a day after a shooting at premises left a security guard hospitalized. USA Today has reported that around 2 pm on Wednesday, Toronto Police Service officers were called to Drake's home, after an individual attempted to gain access to the property. The person was apprehended under the Ontario Mental Health Act, indicating a non-criminal nature to the incident. Under this act, authorities can detain individuals for examination if they are believed to be suffering from a mental disorder that could lead to serious harm, according to the Ontario government's website. According to the Ontario government's website, under the act, individuals can be detained for examination by a physician if officers believe they are "apparently suffering from (a) mental disorder" that could result in serious bodily harm, according to the Ontario government's website. It is unknown whether Drake was at home during the trespassing incident. Drake's home was previously targeted in a shooting Just a day earlier, at 2 a.m. on Tuesday, police were at Drake’s mansion seeking suspects who had fled in a vehicle after a shooting. Drake's security guard was shot outside the front gates of his residence and quickly taken to a Toronto hospital with serious, yet non-life-threatening injuries. Toronto police inspector Paul Krawczyk mentioned that Drake's team is cooperating with investigators, noting the ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, which has recently intensified through their music. These incidents occurred during a prolonged exchange of personal insults between the two artists in their songs
