Viral video shows Young Thug reacting to own Music during RICO trial

Hip-hop star Young Thug, facing RICO charges in Georgia, became an unlikely internet sensation this week.    A viral video captured Williams, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, nodding along to his 2015 track "Halftime" as prosecutors presented the music video as evidence.    The track was presented as evidence by prosecutors, who allege Williams' lyrics reference criminal activity connected to his alleged gang affiliation.   The brief clip, which has already amassed over 1.5 million views, captures Williams nodding his head and pointing his finger in rhythm with the beat while turning towards his defense attorney, Brian Steel. The social media caption for the video, uploaded by a fan account, reads: "Young Thug and his lawyer vibing to his hit song Halftime in court omg."   This seemingly lighthearted moment comes during a high-stakes trial. Williams is one of 28 defendants facing charges in the Georgia RICO case, which accuses him of being the leader of the Atlanta-based street gang Young Slime Life (YSL).   Prosecutors are attempting to use lyrics from 17 of Williams' songs as evidence against him and his co-defendants, despite defense arguments that such use violates their First Amendment right to free speech. Judge Ural Glanville, presiding over the case, has ruled in favor of the prosecution, stating, "They're not prosecuting your clients because of the songs they wrote. They're using the songs to prove other things your clients may have been involved in. I don't think it's an attack on free speech." The trial, which is expected to last for several more months, has drawn significant media attention.
