Tyla, the “Truth or Dare” singer, has cemented her status as the new “it girl” in the music and fashion scene. After rocketing to fame with her viral amapiano-pop single “Water,” the song peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Tyla the highest-charting African female solo musician in Billboard history. She’s the first South African solo artist to break into the top 10 since 1968, according to Billboard. Tyla’s irresistible dance anthem also topped the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs and Hip-Hop/R&B charts, and she claimed her first Grammy in February 2024 for Best African Music Performance.
