Revered painter captures nature’s essence

 



Rawalpindi witnessed a mesmerising showcase of artistic brilliance as the Punjab Arts Council (PAC) unveiled an exhibition featuring the renowned painter and calligrapher Liaquat Ali Khan. The inauguration, attended by Punjab Assembly Member Raja Muhammad Hanif Advocate, marked a significant moment in honouring Khan's contributions to the art world. PAC Deputy Director Muhammad Shakoor and Assistant Director Muhammad Suleman welcomed the chief guest with a bouquet, setting a warm tone for the event. Over 60 exquisite artworks by Liaquat Ali Khan adorned the exhibition, captivating the audience with their intricate beauty and profound symbolism. Raja Muhammad Hanif Advocate, in his inaugural address, reflected on the divine essence of creation, attributing artistic endeavours to the divine. He marvelled at the artworks' ability to capture nature's essence in vibrant hues, noting that colours transcend language, speaking a universal tongue of beauty. Emphasising the positive influence of artists on society, he encouraged nurturing the younger generation's appreciation for both conventional education and the arts. Naheed Manzoor, highlighting Liaquat Ali Khan's accolades including the title "painter with golden hands" bestowed by Sheikh Zayed of the United Arab Emirates, lauded Khan's dedication to his craft. She mentioned the monumental 8,000-square-foot portrait of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, a testament to Khan's artistic prowess and commitment to preserving heritage through art. Manzoor paid homage to Khan's lifelong devotion to art promotion and expressed gratitude for the Punjab Arts Council's continual support of young talent. Liaquat Ali Khan himself shared insights into his artistic journey, expressing a deep-seated commitment to passing on his artistry to future generations. His passion for art and culture resonated through his words, acknowledging the pivotal role played by institutions like the Arts Council in nurturing artistic talent. The exhibition featured works by other talented artists such as Sara Musabi, Munahal, Faiza, Ayman, Sambal, Arej, Gulalai, Harith, Adnan, Khalid, Hasnain, Abdullah, Momin, Amil Khan, and Mohammad Asher, adding diverse perspectives to the artistic narrative on display. As the event concluded, certificates of appreciation were awarded to Liaquat Ali Khan and participating artists, acknowledging their contributions to enriching the cultural landscape. The exhibition, a celebration of artistic legacy and contemporary talent, will continue to enchant visitors until May 8, inviting all to immerse themselves in the splendour of creative expression at the PAC.
