ATEEZ secured the K-pop Artist of the Year award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2025, held on March 17 in Los Angeles. The eight-member group, under KQ Entertainment, triumphed over strong contenders, including BTS' Jimin and BLACKPINK's Lisa, to claim the top honor in the K-pop category. The group, consisting of Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho, also faced competition from aespa and ENHYPEN in the category. Their win reinforces their rising global influence as leading artists in the fourth generation of K-pop. BTS’ Jimin Wins K-pop Song of the Year While ATEEZ took home the top honor in the K-pop category, BTS' Jimin also had a standout moment at the ceremony. His song “Who”, the lead single from his second studio album Muse, won K-pop Song of the Year. Jimin was nominated alongside Stray Kids (“Chk Chk Boom”), ILLIT (“Magnetic”), aespa (“Supernova”), and ENHYPEN (“XO (Only If You Say Yes)”). Other Major K-pop Winners JYP Entertainment’s Stray Kids also had a successful night, winning K-pop Album of the Year for their ninth Korean-language EP, ATE, solidifying their position as a dominant force in fourth-generation K-pop. Meanwhile, HYBE’s newest girl group ILLIT was awarded Best New K-pop Artist, surpassing BABYMONSTER, BADVILLAIN, NCT WISH, and TWS. In a newly introduced category, TXT’s Yeonjun won Favourite K-pop Dance Challenge for his solo debut single GGUM. He outperformed several viral hits, including SEVENTEEN’s “Maestro”, LE SSERAFIM’s “Smart”, and aespa’s “Supernova”. K-pop Stars Shine in Other Categories K-pop artists also made their mark beyond genre-specific categories. Jimin’s “Who” earned a nomination for Best Lyrics, while BLACKPINK’s Rosé and Lisa both competed for Best Music Video. However, Taylor Swift and Post Malone’s “Fortnight” ultimately claimed the win. Additionally, BTS' Jimin and Jungkook’s Disney+ series Are You Sure?! was nominated in Favourite On Screen, but Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) won the award. Despite some losses, K-pop artists left a strong imprint on the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2025, reflecting their growing global influence and continued dominance in the international music industry.
