Karachi is expected to experience hot and humid weather over the next 24 hours, with temperatures ranging between 33°C and 35°C. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the city’s weather will remain warm and damp, with the possibility of sea breezes blowing in from the southwest. In the past 24 hours, Karachi recorded a minimum temperature of 20.5°C. Despite the heat, the weather remains moderate in the evenings due to the sea breeze, providing some relief. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions against the heat, particularly during the daytime when temperatures are expected to peak. However, Weather in Neelum Valley and surrounding high-altitude areas has started to improve, with the intensity of the cold gradually decreasing. However, the region continues to face challenges due to road blockages caused by heavy snowfall. Areas such as Taobat, Shounter, and in upper Neelum Valley have been affected, making it difficult for residents to travel. As a result, locals are forced to carry essential supplies, including food and medicines, on foot. The scarcity of medications is also becoming a significant issue. With the rise in temperature, snow is beginning to melt, increasing the flow of water in the Neelum River and its tributaries. Machinery from the National Highway Authority is currently working to clear snow from the roads. Sohail Qayyum Qureshi, the Executive Engineer of NHA Neelum, stated that it could take another two to three days to clear the debris caused by snow avalanches and landslides. On the other hand, mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during the next twelve hours. However, cold weather is likely in hilly areas during morning/night hours. Temperature of major cities recorded this morning: Islamabad 11°C, Lahore 17°C, Karachi 23°C, Peshawar 15°C, Quetta, Gilgit and Murree 6°C and Muzaffarabad 10°C. According to weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cold and dry weather is expected in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramula, while dry weather in Jammu.
