Singer Courtney Love has announced her decision to seek British citizenship, citing concerns over Donald Trump’s return to the White House. Speaking at London's Royal Geographical Society, Love described the atmosphere surrounding Trump and his associates as "frightening" and likened the current political climate to "cyanide," expressing her discontent with his administration, as reported by Daily Mail. The 60-year-old, previously married to late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, has resided in London since 2019 after leaving Los Angeles. Love enthusiastically spoke of her love for the British capital, confirming she would officially apply for citizenship within six months. Her remarks were met with applause from the audience. Love joins a wave of celebrities who've recently relocated to the UK following Trump's reelection. High-profile figures such as Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi, actors Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes, and fashion designer Tom Ford have already settled in Britain. Actress America Ferrera is also rumored to have moved to London, while Eva Longoria chose Spain and Mexico for her family's permanent residence. This influx, dubbed the 'Donald Dash,' aligns with data from the UK Home Office, indicating a record 6,100 applications for British citizenship from US citizens last year—a 40 percent increase in the final quarter of 2024 compared to the previous year. Love rose to fame as lead singer of the rock band Hole, known for 1990s hits including 'Live Through This' and 'Celebrity Skin.' Despite fans' hopes for a band reunion, Love firmly dismissed the possibility during her recent appearance. The event concluded memorably with her performing an acoustic version of Bob Dylan's classic 'Like A Rolling Stone.'
