Sony executives are reportedly eyeing Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost to replace Ken Jennings as the host of Jeopardy!, according to RadarOnline. While Jost has publicly denied any ambition to take over the role, sources claim the network is offering a substantial deal in hopes of changing his mind. Jost, 42, earned strong reviews for hosting Pop Culture Jeopardy!, which debuted in December 2024. A network insider told RadarOnline that his performance was both a creative and commercial success, attracting younger viewers and energizing the franchise. “It’s working out better than anybody anticipated,” the source said. Behind the scenes, executives are reportedly concerned over Jeopardy!’s fluctuating ratings and continued criticism of Jennings, who was named full-time host in 2023 following Mayim Bialik’s exit. Some fans have taken issue with Jennings’ delivery and hosting style, while insiders suggest he lacks the “star quality and charisma” that Jost brings. Though Jost is still under contract with SNL and prefers living in New York, insiders say Sony may even consider relocating production to accommodate him. “I bet he could even convince them to tape the show in New York,” one source speculated. In a previous interview, Jost addressed the rumors, saying, “I promise I am in no way trying to steal his job.” Despite that, network executives remain eager to sign him to a longer-term deal, while reportedly keeping Jennings on short-term contracts tied to performance. “Colin has the kind of pretty-boy face you can plaster on a bus or billboard,” the insider joked, adding that he’s quickly becoming a fan favorite among the show’s growing audience.
