Gold prices reach record high in Pakistan as international rates surge

Gold prices in Pakistan reached a new all-time high on Thursday, following a rise in international gold rates. The price of gold per tola surged to Rs325,500, marking an increase of Rs500 in just one day. In the 10-gram segment, gold was sold at Rs279,063, reflecting an increase of Rs428, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). The bullion market had been closed during the Eid holidays but resumed activity as prices surged. Globally, the price of gold also saw a rise, with the international rate reaching $3,089 per ounce, marking an increase of $5 during the day. Meanwhile, the price of silver remained stable at Rs3,580 per tola.
