The country's lower house of the parliament on Monday condemned genocide of Palestinians in Gaza by Israel as it expressed solidarity with the beleaguered people of strip and offered salutations to the 60,000 martyrs in a resolution unanimoulsy adopted by the house. When the National Assembly's sitting started on Monday, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq announced that all the parliamentary parties have agreed to suspend the routine proceedings and discuss the situation in Gaza. Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar presented a resolution which was unanimously adopted. The resolution condemned Israeli atrocities and paid tribute to the sixty thousand Palestinian martyred since start of the genocide in October 2023. According to the text of the resolution, the house strongly condemned the Israeli bombardment despite the ceasefire and considered Israel's aggression a failure of the international community. The resolution expressed a commitment to continue supporting the Palestinians and called for the immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces. Earlier, Tarar stated that "a new chapter of oppression has been written in Palestine. Innocent Palestinians have fallen victim to Zionist brutality. Neither children, women, nor the elderly are safe in this war. The people of Palestine need the support of the global community." PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan quoted Gaza's Ministry of Health, according to which 61,000 Palestinians have been martyred. Hitting out at the government, he asked how can those who commit injustice against their own people stop the hand of another oppressor. "This house should demand action from the OIC [Organization of Islamic Cooperation]. Every school and hospital in Palestine has been destroyed. "It will take twenty years just to clear the rubble of Gaza. No one has emerged as a united Ummah. Now, it is being said that Gaza should be vacated to build beaches there," he said. Atta Tarar stated that all Pakistanis are united on the issue of Palestine. "Instead of point scoring, we must ensure practical steps. We are proud of our green passport. We do not recognize or accept Israel," he said. Qadir Patel of the PPP said, "There are 8 million Jews, and we have 80 million religious scholars, yet our prayers are not being accepted. Are we still waiting for the Ababeel birds? And even if they come now, they may attack us instead." MQM's Mustafa Kamal proposed that 100 injured Palestinian children be brought to Pakistan along with their families.
