Damian Lillard to undergo MRI, likely out of Bucks vs Pacers game 5

Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard is set to undergo an MRI on Monday to assess the severity of a left lower leg injury sustained during Game 4 of the Bucks’ playoff series against the Indiana Pacers. Lillard exited Sunday night’s 129-103 loss after collapsing midway through the first quarter while trying to secure an offensive rebound.         View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Milwaukee Bucks (@bucks) Preliminary evaluations have raised concerns over a possible Achilles tendon injury, with Bucks coach Doc Rivers acknowledging postgame, "Just being honest, it's not very promising." This would indiciate Lillard will be missing from Game 5 of the NBA playoff series scheduled for 29 April. The injury occurred as Lillard tapped the ball away from a Pacers player before falling awkwardly. He stayed down through the next defensive possession and was later helped off the court without putting weight on his left leg.         View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Milwaukee Bucks (@bucks) He was later seen leaving the arena in a walking boot and on crutches. "When you see a guy like that not able to walk on his own, you know this might be serious," said Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. "Then, you hope for best-case scenario." Lillard's departure deflated Milwaukee early, with the Pacers going on a 10-3 run and establishing a double-digit lead they never relinquished. The 26-point defeat marked the second-largest home playoff loss in Bucks history. Lillard had only recently returned from a month-long absence due to deep vein thrombosis in his right leg, featuring in Game 2 of the series.         View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Milwaukee Bucks (@bucks) However, he struggled to find rhythm, averaging 10.5 points and 6.0 assists across his appearances and missing both of his shot attempts in Game 4 before exiting. "Dame's one of them special ones," Bucks guard Kevin Porter Jr. said. "Seeing him go down and not be able to return, it's definitely defeating." Pacers center Myles Turner offered a message of support despite the fierce playoff rivalry: "At the end of the day, this league's a brotherhood... Just thoughts and prayers. You never want to see anything like that happen." Milwaukee now trails 3-1 in the best-of-seven series. Game 5 is set for Tuesday in Indianapolis, and the Bucks are bracing to battle without Lillard as they fight to avoid a third straight first-round playoff exit. "I think everybody in the locker room knows what the deal is," Antetokounmpo added. "The next guy got to step up. We got to do what we got to do, move the ball, play together, try to win the game and come back."         View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by NBA (@nba)
