The government's Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Company (TUSDEC) has unveiled its strategy for an Electronic Waste (E-Waste) Metal Recycling project in Gujranwala, aimed at addressing environmental challenges. A meeting was chaired by Haroon Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, with TUSDEC on the 30th of April, 2025, to review progress on a six-point agenda. The meeting featured significant deliberations on key areas related to technological advancements and industrial development. During the meeting, TUSDEC presented its strategy for the Electronic Waste (E-Waste) Metal Recycling project in Gujranwala. Haroon Akhtar Khan emphasised that metal recycling will play a crucial role in combating pollution in the country. TUSDEC will provide services in the separation of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, which is expected to improve environmental management. In addition, proposals for testing water quality without the use of bore wells were discussed, with a view to ensuring safer water sources for the country. Comprehensive industrial policy In a meeting held today, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Haroon Akhtar Khan, engaged with the Revenue Mobilisation, Investment, and Trade Programme (REMIT) to discuss key elements of Pakistan's upcoming Industrial Policy. During the meeting, Haroon Akhtar Khan emphasised the importance of the industrial policy, stating, "We are about to introduce an industrial policy that is critical for addressing the challenges faced by the industrial sector."
