Diddy seeks dismissal of portions of sexual assault lawsuit, citing outdated laws

Sean "Diddy" Combs is firing back against a sexual assault lawsuit filed last year, arguing parts of it should be dismissed on technical grounds.  On Friday April 26, Combs’ lawyers challenged a lawsuit filed by Joi Dickerson-Neal, accusing Combs of drugging and assaulting her in 1991, as well as filming the assault and showing it to others. Dickerson-Neal – a college student at the time of the alleged assault – initially made an appearance in one of Diddy’s music videos.  Combs’ lawyers deny the claims entirely, calling them “made up” and “a money grab.”  In a new motion, they argue that some accusations can't proceed because the laws they're based on, like revenge porn laws, didn't exist in 1991.  They also want parts of the lawsuit targeting Combs’ company dismissed because the company had not been established at the time of the alleged assault. This lawsuit is one of six Combs faces, all alleging sexual misconduct. He has denied all wrongdoing, and another lawsuit has already been settled.  This legal fight comes after federal agents raided properties belonging to Sean "Diddy" Combs last month in Los Angeles and Miami.  CNN reported, citing a law enforcement source, that the raids were part of a wider sex trafficking investigation targeting Combs. Combs' lawyer, Aaron Dyer, slammed the searches as excessive force, comparing them to "military-level" tactics.
