Omar Ayub doubts govt's sincerity in talks with PTI

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Omar Ayub said that the party is evaluating the government’s intentions in the newly formed negotiation committee, as talks between the two sides began. “Today is the first round of negotiations; we will see what happens,” Ayub told reporters outside the court, Express News reported. “We will also assess the government’s sincerity in this process.” Ayub clarified there had been no recent meetings between PTI’s negotiation team and the party’s founder, emphasising that any perceived disagreements were baseless. “There are no divisions among us,” he said. Ayub revealed he had attempted to meet the party’s founder before but was arrested the same day. Interim bail approved Earlier, the Peshawar High Court granted Ayub interim bail until January 20. The single bench, led by Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim, heard the pti leader’s petition for protective bail amidst fears of arrest. The petitioner's counsel argued that an FIR had been registered against Ayub at Ramna Police Station, Islamabad, and his client wished to appear before the relevant courts without the risk of being detained. The court granted the bail, providing Ayub the opportunity to attend proceedings without hindrance.
