Entrepreneur Ashneer Grover has criticised Bollywood actor Salman Khan, accusing him of creating unnecessary drama during their exchange on Bigg Boss 18. The former Shark Tank India judge made these remarks during a recent event, months after their heated on-air confrontation. Ashneer Grover appeared on Bigg Boss 18 in November 2024 as a guest during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode. The interaction was confrontational when Salman addressed Ashneer Grover’s past comments about him. Now, Ashneer Grover has hit back, claiming the actor intentionally picked a fight to create controversy. "He created unnecessary competition by picking a fight," Grover said. "I went peacefully when invited, but he suddenly claimed he didn’t know my name to create drama. If he didn’t know my name, why was I called?" According to Ashneer Grover, the Bollywood superstar had worked as a brand ambassador for his company, making it impossible for them not to have interacted. "If you were the brand ambassador of my company, it wouldn’t have been possible without meeting me," he stated. "I ran my company like a ruthless businessman—everything had to go through me." Ashneer Grover’s remarks contradict Salman’s Bigg Boss 18 statement, where he claimed that their meeting had been with Ashneer Grover’s team, not him personally. The actor also denied misleading the businessman about endorsement agreements, saying, "I did not even know your name until I saw your video." At the time, Ashneer Grover remained silent and later apologised to Salman, saying he did not intend to disrespect him. The controversy dates back to 2023, when Ashneer spoke about his alleged experience with Salman Khan during a podcast. He claimed that while filming a sponsored advertisement, Salman’s manager refused to let him take a picture with the actor, implying that Salman deliberately distanced himself. When Ashneer appeared on Bigg Boss 18, Salman confronted him about this claim, stating, "The meeting was not held with you but with your team. Maybe you were also present there. We have not had any discussions. You presented it as if we deceived you, which is incorrect." Salman further challenged the numbers quoted by Ashneer in the podcast, asserting that the businessman misrepresented facts. Ashneer’s latest comments have reignited the debate on social media, with some users supporting him. In contrast, others argue that he should have addressed the matter directly on Bigg Boss 18 instead of remaining silent.
