In the latest episode of Severance Season 2, new insights are revealed about Kier Eagan, the founder of Lumon. In Episode 4, the MDR team participates in an unsettling outdoor activity, where they unearth surprising details about Eagan’s past. While exploring, the team stumbles upon a hidden appendix in Eagan’s book *Compliance*, which reveals information about his twin brother, a shocking event, and his idea of the Four Tempers. During the mission, the team finds an old TV with Milchick (Tramell Tillman) giving instructions. He informs them that Kier Eagan dictated a fourth appendix to *Compliance* before he died. They are then directed to Scissor Cave, where Eagan supposedly confronted the Four Tempers. Upon finding the hidden appendix, they discover a dedication page that says “For Dieter,” unveiling that Kier had a twin named Dieter. Kier describes their bond as being so intimate that they “shared the lodgings of my mother’s womb.” This discovery shifts the understanding of Eagan’s childhood, which was already marked by health issues due to his parents’ close biological relationship. As they continue reading, the team uncovers a disturbing incident where Kier found Dieter engaged in what he considered a sinful act. The appendix suggests Dieter was destroyed and turned into a tree as punishment. However, the text reveals that Kier was responsible for drowning his brother at Woe's Hollow waterfall. Milchick recites part of the appendix around a campfire, revealing Kier’s version of the event. While Kier attributes Dieter’s destruction to his actions, it becomes apparent that Kier himself caused his brother’s death. This deepens the mystery surrounding Eagan’s past. After Dieter’s death, Kier describes encountering the Woe Temper. He describes Woe as “a gaunt bride, half the height of a natural woman.” The appendix features an image of an older woman with long hair standing near the waterfall. Kier claims she communicated with him through her eyes, saying, “This is your doing. You suffered his wantonness; now he is no one’s brother, only chaos’s whore.” This moment marks the start of Kier's encounters with the Four Tempers, including Frolic, Dread, and Malice, which later influenced his philosophy and the teachings of Lumon.
