Celine Dion has issued a public warning about AI-generated songs that falsely claim to feature her voice and likeness. The legendary Canadian singer took to Instagram on March 9, 2025, to caution fans about fraudulent tracks circulating online. “It has come to our attention that unsanctioned, AI-generated music purporting to contain Celine Dion’s musical performances, name, and likeness is currently spreading across various digital platforms,” her statement read. “Please be advised that these recordings are fake, unauthorized, and are not part of my official discography.” Dion’s warning comes amid growing concerns over AI’s impact on the music industry, including deepfake technology and voice cloning. In April 2024, over 200 artists, including Billie Eilish, Katy Perry, Jon Bon Jovi, and J Balvin, signed an open letter organized by the Artist Rights Alliance, demanding AI developers stop exploiting their voices and music without consent. The letter criticized AI’s role in diminishing royalty payments, creating unauthorized duplicates, and allowing AI-generated music to overshadow human creativity. Dion, 56, recently made a high-profile return to the stage after battling Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological disorder. Her comeback performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where she sang “Hymne à l’Amour” atop the Eiffel Tower, marked a triumphant moment in her career. As AI technology advances, Dion’s statement underscores the urgent need for artist protection against digital impersonation and unauthorized AI content.
