Court orders man to pay allowance for kids

A court has decided a case of custody and maintenance of children in favour of the mother. The father, who lives abroad, was ordered to pay Rs16,000 per month in additional to an amount of Rs800,000 to his wife. Shaista Bibi, a resident of Jinnah Colony, had had filed a petition for the custody and maintenance of the children in the family court through Malik Arshad Arain advocate. After completing the hearing, Family Court Judge Mehwish Mahmood pronounced the verdict, directing the father to submit a surety bond of Rs1 million and pay Rs16,000 as monthly expenses of the minor children. In addition, the court issued a decree of Rs800,000 in favour of the mother. According to sources, the children also own property worth millions of rupees.
