Pakistan opener Saim Ayub has taken a significant step in his recovery as he prepares to undergo a crucial fitness test at the National Academy in Lahore. His participation in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) remains subject to medical clearance. According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sources, Ayub has successfully completed his rehabilitation following an ankle fracture sustained during the Cape Town Test against South Africa in January. The injury, suffered while fielding, was later diagnosed as a fracture, leading to his treatment in London under PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s arrangements. After spending over two months in recovery, Ayub has now returned to Pakistan, with PCB officials confirming that his latest medical reports from the UK are encouraging. The board’s medical panel will assess his condition and prepare guidelines based on his recovery progress. Ayub is expected to celebrate Eid with his family in Karachi, but his PSL participation will only be confirmed after the fitness test in Lahore. His availability could be a crucial boost for Peshawar Zalmi, depending on his medical clearance.
