Mushahid Hussain sees 'rise of new world order'

Senator Mushahid Hussain on Sunday said the world order laid down by the West was now dying, and a new world order would soon emerge. Addressing the second day of a two-day conference titled 'Seventy Years After Bandung: The Struggle Continues', where he was the chief guest, Mushahid said today, "we are living in an age of turbulence and transformation". He said he had seen China in 1970 when it was weak, isolated and poor, but now it was rising, adding that out of 193 countries, 140 have trade relations with China. Regarding the burning question of global peace and disrupted international order, he said Israel was relentlessly oppressing the people of Gaza.
