KOHAT: Rivals killed three brothers over an old enmity in Kalo Banda area here on Friday, the police said.
The deceased were identified as Ahmed Zaman, 25, Faisal Zaman, 30, and Akbar Zaman, 20.
Rescue 1122 officials said a team shifted the deceased to the KDA Divisional Headquarters Hospital. The bodies were later handed over to the family after autopsy for burial.
The police have registered an FIR into the killings.
Meanwhile, the elders of Kurram district have reaffirmed their commitment to fully supporting the security forces and the district administration in maintaining law and order and ensuring implementation of the Kohat Peace Accord.
They announced their decision at separate jirgas held in Parachinar and Sadda tehsils on Friday, according to a statement issued here.
The jirgas also reviewed the overall law and order situation, progress on the restoration of traffic on the Parachinar-Peshawar Highway and the ongoing as well as the planned development projects.
The participants, including the DIG and the commissioner of Kohat division, termed close coordination among institutions vital for lasting peace.
They stressed the need for national unity and inter-sect harmony, given the evolving regional and international dynamics. They emphasised that public cooperation with the administration, police and the military remained critical for safeguarding security and sustaining development.
