Waziristan judge ‘abducted’ from DI Khan-Tank Road

 



Sessions Judge Shakirullah Marwat was abducted by unknown individuals while traveling on the Dera Ismail Khan-Tank Road on Saturday, sources said. The armed abductors left behind the judge's security personnel and vehicle. Judge Shakirullah Marwat serves in Waziristan. According to sources privy to the development, the judge was in his vehicle when the perpetrators intercepted it near Garah Mohabbat Adda and forcibly took him. The judge's security personnel and vehicle were left behind by the abductors. Upon receiving reports of the abduction, law enforcement authorities promptly arrived at the scene and initiated efforts to locate the kidnappers. Taking notice, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur instructed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to prioritise the safe recovery of the abducted judge. He directed urgent deployment of all available resources for this purpose. He expressed solidarity with the judge's family and assured them of the government's unwavering support. Faisal Karim Kundi, Central Information Secretary of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), also expressed deep concern over the incident, criticising the provincial government's handling of law and order issues. He questioned the government's commitment to maintaining peace, citing concerns over the prevalence of terrorist activities. The reported abduction has heightened public concerns about security, remarked Kundi, urging authorities to expedite efforts for the judge's safe release. Kundi prayed for the safe recovery of Judge Marwat.
