Bronx drill rapper Sha EK, whose real name is Chalim Perry, faces 23 charges, including multiple counts of attempted murder, after being arrested in connection to a July 2024 shooting. The shooting, which took place in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the Bronx, left three victims hospitalized. Authorities say the incident occurred near the Patterson Houses, a public housing complex, and allege that Sha EK was involved in the violence. Although the shooting took place last summer, law enforcement arrested the 21-year-old artist earlier this month. Sha EK is now facing a range of charges, including three counts of attempted murder, assault, weapons possession, and intent to commit murder. The rapper has built a large fanbase, amassing over 340,000 subscribers on YouTube. His music career gained traction in 2022 when he signed with Warner Records and released his debut mixtape 'Face of the What'. That year, his track 'D&D' achieved significant success, reaching more than 8 million streams on Spotify. Despite the serious charges, Sha EK has pleaded not guilty to all allegations.
