Amazon Prime Video has renewed its surprise hit ‘Jury Duty’ for a second season, Variety has learned from sources. The comedy series, which originally debuted in 2023 on Freevee, will now shift its setting from a courtroom to a corporate retreat. According to sources, season 2 has already been filmed in Agoura Hills, California, a suburb of Los Angeles. However, Amazon has not yet commented on the renewal or new details about the upcoming installment. The documentary-style series first gained popularity for its unique premise, following Ronald Gladden, an unsuspecting juror caught in a staged trial where everyone but him was an actor. James Marsden, who played a fictionalized version of himself, was among the standout cast members. Showrunner Cody Heller previously hinted at a new direction for future seasons, stating that the show would need a different setting to keep the concept fresh. Executive producers David Bernad and Todd Schulman agreed, saying the format could be adapted to various unexpected environments. ‘Jury Duty’ was created by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, with a team of executive producers including Heller, Bernad, Schulman, Ruben Fleischer, and Jake Szymanski. Following the success of season 1, Amazon signed an overall deal with Ronald Gladden, who will continue working on new projects with the studio.
